Stop spyware in the beginning

The idea is simple. If we do not let spyware to start, then it can't spy. Wenpoint Anti-Spyware tips lists some place where spyware can start itself. The article is here.

Windows XP has the following place for application to auto start when system runs.

  • start-up folder

  • registry

  • Initialization File

  • explorer.exe

Spyware can start itself in the above places. In my observance, most spyware start itself by adding an entry in registry.
